OPRAH’S NEWEST FAVORITE THING? CHARGING $1 MILLION FOR 30 SECOND AD!

According to reports filed today, a 30 second spot on the last show will cost $1,000,000. That‘s more than sponsors shelled out for the series finales of hit prime time shows like ’24‘ and ’Lost.’ (If you were wondering, ‘24’ sold spots for a paltry $650,000 per :30 while ‘Lost’ managed to score $900,000 per spot.)

Oprah Won’t Publicly Support Obama in 2012 Election

“For 2012, much has changed for Oprah. She now has own cable channel called OWN that has been struggling to find an audience — she isn’t going to do anything to alienate them,” a TV insider tells me. “Unlike in 2008, when a drop in ratings didn’t matter as much for the queen of TV, Oprah is now fighting every day to get people to tune into OWN.”
